Kaytranada

This is a concept poster for Kaytranada tour merchandise. Kaytranada’s music is upbeat and complex, so I wanted to incorporate that into the look and feel of the poster. When I listen to his music, I want to get up and move, so I aimed to make the illustration and typography on the poster feel alive and full of motion. I included bright colors and lots of texture to add to that feel.

Steal My Body Home - Beck

For this project I used the song "Steal My Body Home" by Beck and a biography about his life to create a typographic poster. The song is long and has many different sounds, so I used the typography to incorporate that. I edited an existing typeface for the title of the poster to give the impression that the type is being dragged along, which is one of the feelings I got from the song.

Slow Dancing in the Dark - Joji

I designed this poster as a tour poster concept for the artist Joji. It features his song "Slow Dancing in the Dark". For the poster I chose to use rings with lyrics from the song in suspended animation. I was inspired to do this because when I listen to this song, it makes me feel like moving in graceful slow motion.

Hyde Park Jazz Fest

I designed this poster as a merchandise concept for the Hyde Park Jazz fest. This includes hand-drawn type. I wanted this poster to look how jazz music sounds. I included bright colors and created a busy pattern to emulate the feel of the different instruments. I also wanted the poster to have an organic feel to emphasize the fluidity and improvisation that is a part of jazz music.
